My story

Here in Teesdale we are raising money to support the work of Christian Aid.

The money raised goes towards Christian Aid’s work in some of the world’s poorest communities, acting where the need is greatest, without regard to the faith or religion of those requiring help.

Such support is especially valued at a time when so many communities across the world are suffering because of the Climate Crisis impacting on temperatures, rainfall and sea-level which have destroyed the ability to grow food in many places that used to be productive. These problems have been made worse by the global increases in the price of fuel and of basic food commodities.

Christian Aid also responds to emergencies, providing relief in places such as north-west Syria and southern Turkey in the aftermath of the earthquake that hit on 6th February this year.

Thank you for supporting those in need.

How your money helps

Poverty pushed Aline to the brink. She was abused, homeless and hungry. But Aline pushed back harder. With Christian Aid funded small business training, she achieved what had seemed impossible, a vital income for her and her children.

Fundraising this Christian Aid Week will ensure more people in Burundi get the skills and knowledge they need to push back against the inhumanity of poverty.
