My story

As a church we are holding a Harvest Quiz night and service.

One of the ways to donate is to use our list and add up your points. Decide how much you wish to allocate to each point (1p, 2p, 5p, 20p or more. At Harvest total your points and multiply them by your chosen amount to help you reach the amount of your donation.

The people of Venezuela lost multiple members of their family and friends - 1 point for every family member or friend you can rely on.

Shelter is hard to come by - 1 point for every room in your house and double points for any room that is just yours.

1 point for every place you can chill out and relax. 1 point for each bed and especially if it is comfortable!

Water and Sanitation is very difficult - 1 point for every tap in your house. 10 points for each toilet but deduct 2 points if more than 2 people have to use them.

Food and Drink is hard to come by - 1 point for every drink you had today. 1 point for every snack and 3 points for every meal. 1 point for each meal in you fridge/freezer. 1 point for each tin/packet in your cupboard. 5 points for every supermarket or grocery store near you.

Medical Care is very scarce - 1 point for any medicine you take. 5 points for your GP surgery and hospitals you can access.

Education - 1 point for every school within walking distance. 5 points for each library you can use.

Places of Worship - 1 point for every place of worship in your area. 1 point for each activity run by your church. 1 point for anyone that helps organise them.

How your money helps

You can stand with farming families in South Sudan as they protect their land and grow food again.

In Aguat, floodwaters sweep through the village year after year, destroying crops, homes and livestock. But with agricultural training and a small starter gift of groundnuts from our partners, Anok is growing vegetables, selling groundnut paste and supporting other farmers in her community.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide tools like shovels, sickles and hoes so families can establish their vegetable gardens.
  • fund practical agricultural training so farmers can adapt to the climate crisis and protect their harvests.
  • support community-led projects that hold back floodwater and protect families' homes.
