My story

This Harvest-time, the Haddington Churches CA Group is fundraising to support communities facing the climate crisis and food insecurity.  Our main event is a 6 mile sponsored walk around Haddington, starting form St Mary's Church at 9.30am and ending at Holy Trinty Church about 12.30pm.

In places like South Sudan, farmers like Anok are adapting to floods that threaten their crops, homes and livestock. Despite these challenges, they're gaining new skills, building dykes to protect their land and sharing hope with their communities.

Your support can fund the vital training and practical resources these farmers need. Please give what you can to help families like Anok's share harvest and hope for the future.

How your money helps

You can stand with farming families in South Sudan as they protect their land and grow food again.

In Aguat, floodwaters sweep through the village year after year, destroying crops, homes and livestock. But with agricultural training and a small starter gift of groundnuts from our partners, Anok is growing vegetables, selling groundnut paste and supporting other farmers in her community.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide tools like shovels, sickles and hoes so families can establish their vegetable gardens.
  • fund practical agricultural training so farmers can adapt to the climate crisis and protect their harvests.
  • support community-led projects that hold back floodwater and protect families' homes.
