My story

Through our sponsored efforts: walking 70 thousand steps! swimming 7k in 7 days!  baking 70 cakes! cycling (virtually) the Yorkshire 600!  we want to maximise our contribution to the brilliant work of Christian Aid and partners in helping the poorest in the world.

People like Fridah, in Nairobi, who are growing food in small spaces to make sure their children can eat. With support from Christian Aid and Beacon of Hope, families are learning how to grow food and build more secure futures. 

£15 could purchase hand tools for an urban gardener

£50 could purchase a solar dryer to give long life to fresh food

£120 could fund a mobile kiosk, to enable an urban gardener to take produce to market.

ALL donations, big and small, will help change lives.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
