My story

Christian Aid works with communities around the world who are facing some of the toughest challenges on the planet — conflict, climate change, hunger and deep inequality.

They partner with local organisations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean to help families build safer, stronger and more secure lives.

Although Christian Aid is based in the UK, their programme work focuses on supporting people overseas where the need is greatest. From helping parents like Fridah in Nairobi to grow food sustainably, to providing emergency support in places affected by conflict or disaster, their work makes a real difference to people who would otherwise be left behind.

By taking on 70k in May, I am doing my small part to support this life‑changing work. Every kilometre I cover — whether running, walking or rowing — will help Christian Aid reach more families who urgently need support.

Thank you so much for anything you can give.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
