It’s time to wax the boots for another challenging fundraiser for Christian Aid.
This time I intend to walk... in September… the ANGLESEY (Ynys Mon) Coast Path: 130 miles; typically walked in 12 days. I wonder if I can crack it in a week? On this timescale I see that one of the days will be 27 miles!
As always I’ll be working up to a good level of fitness, spurred on by your donations. So, a big thankyou to you in anticipation of your generous support which is much needed. Christian Aid work with some of the world's most vulnerable communities in 29 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean.

What a beautiful island this is. Breathtaking landscapes and panoramas!!
70 miles achieved over 3 days. That's over half way.
The first two days were demanding enough: 22 miles and 20 miles ... but then came day three! Holyhead's Holy Island looks like it's part of the main island of Anglesey on a road map, but it is separate. A full circuit of this island is 28 miles, and it seemed to make sense to me to leave the campervan by the bridge and tackle the whole island in one day. This I did, setting off at 6am in the dark, torch in hand. By 9amthe weather, which had been dry and windy, began to deteriorate. Light rain at first ( but horizontal in the wind) came in several bouts with dry in between. But as I approached Holyhead Mountain the wind and rain became worse. The Wales Coast Path ascends to the very top and there are many criss-cross paths. Tricky enough but by now i was in a persistent squall. The coat kept it out but not below. Coming down the mountain I had wet feet in my boots with still 8 miles to go! Back to the van to dry out after close on 13 hours. My pedometer read almost 60,000 steps 28 miles at 3mph (speed when actually walking). That was some day! I'm writing this on Day4 which I'm glad to say I fixed as a rest day.
Four more days to go as planned in order to achieve the challenge in 7 actual walking days.
Please encourage folk to give. It really does seem to give me a boost! Thankyou all.

Thanks to all you generous people we are halfway with the fundraiser a week before I set off !
I will be autonymous on this adventure: Sleeping in campervan and using public transport to get me to the start of each day's walk. Not sure I can pronounce the Welsh names... for example I will be boarding a bus to Rhostrehwfa !
Radio Humberside interview is here: At 1:44:00 (after Lewis Capaldi sings SURVIVE!!) https://www.bbc.co.uk/p…
Phase two of fundraising launched via Winterton Residents' facebook page. Welcome all you generous people!
