My story

In Guatemala, the climate crisis is destroying crops and causing hunger for Indigenous communities. But with training, farmers like Aurelia are fighting back.

Aurelia has faced extreme heatwaves that have killed her crops, but through Christian Aid’s partner, Congcoop, she’s learning to grow resilient crops, make fertiliser and conserve water. She’s sharing this knowledge with others, helping her community build a sustainable future.

This Christian Aid Week, please give to support farmers in the fight against hunger and the climate crisis.

Walking 300 Miles together

This week I have walked round Hull, London and lots of countryside to get my steps in. I have been blessed with nice weather and beautiful scenery. Getting close enough to a buzzard to get some pics.  As I got to the steps of Church last Sunday I had walked 200.12 miles of my 300 mile walk. WOW. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT ALONG THE WAY. IT KEEPS ME WALKING.       As of Friday 23rd  253 miles walked.

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK and Day 17 of  our walk together. 179 miles 413,633 steps and WOW £465. + Gift Aid.
Most of my walking this week has been on the Hull to Hornsea track (doing various routes).  It was Messy Church yesterday and as this takes a lot of time preparing, I was out at 7am each day getting the miles in before I did anything else.
Thank you so much to everyone for your kind donations. Your continued support keeps me walking. Angie x

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK and Day 14 of  our walk together. 147.32 miles 339,845 steps and £310. + Gift Aid.
Since Friday seen seals at Flamborough, deer, magpies who I wish a good morning as is customary to some of us, and a buzzard all on the Hull to Hornsea track. Been blessed by the weather this year unlike 2024.
Thank you to everyone for your kind donations. Your continued support keeps me walking. Angie x

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
