Last year Little Gaddesden raised over £1500 for Christian Aid Week. This year we are hoping to raise even more through this online envelope, collections held in church on 11th and 18th May and our Strawberry Cream Tea at 3pm on Saturday 31st May in the Thomas Field Hall at Little Gaddesden Church.
This year’s Christian Aid Week is focused on Guatemala, where families are working hard to beat poverty and hunger in the face of the climate crisis.
In Guatemala, the climate crisis is destroying crops and causing hunger for Indigenous communities. But with training, farmers like Aurelia are fighting back.
Aurelia has faced extreme heatwaves that have killed her crops, but through Christian Aid’s partner, Congcoop, she’s learning to grow resilient crops, make fertiliser and conserve water. She’s sharing this knowledge with others, helping her community build a sustainable future.
This is just one example of Christian Aid's work. This Christian Aid Week, please give to support farmers in the fight against hunger and the climate crisis and help to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty.
Thank you.
