I’m fundraising this Christian Aid Week! Why? To help people push back against poverty. Did you know, malnourishment and poverty affect more than 70% of people in Burundi?
Christian Aid are working to empower families in Burundi build reliable and diverse incomes. Take Aline, for example. She found a lifeline in Christian Aid after she felt the full force of extreme poverty, when an early marriage ended in abuse and violence. We helped her with small business training and she set up as a grocery wholesaler. Today, Aline can afford food, clothes, and essential healthcare for her family.
There’s more people Christian Aid could reach – and that’s why I’m fundraising.
I'll be walking 70k to visit churches and projects across North Devon that are supporting Christian Aid. I can't wait to meet some of our fantastic reps, fundraisers and supporters. If I can also raise some money along the way, that would be fantastic.
Just £10 could provide someone like Aline with the training that supports their family to set up a small business, such as selling home-grown vegetables.
Together we can make a lasting difference. Thank you for your support!

Amazing to be on BBC Radio Devon with Mel this morning to talk about this challenge. I am so grateful for all of the support and encouragement!
Delighted to have reached 50km and visited 12 churches on the walks so far. Thank you so much for all the support! I'm really over the moon to have reached my fundraising target. Every donation will make a huge difference.
Congratulations! This activity has reached its target!
Congratulations! This activity has received its first donation!
On Bank Holiday Monday I completed an 8km hike from St Mary's in Molland, across Exmoor. No Exmoor ponies to be seen this time but I heard plenty of cuckoos and an adder crossed my path! Great to get started on this challenge.
I'm trying to take in as many of our local churches as possible during my walks. St Mary's Molland has amazingly well-preserved Georgian box pews and is a wonderfully friendly community. Looking forward to the next walk!
