My story

This fundraiser is rooted in the spirit of Lent, a time of reflection, compassion, and giving back. It is an opportunity to extend care beyond ourselves and stand in solidarity with those facing unimaginable hardship.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, ongoing conflict continues to devastate communities, with young women and children disproportionately affected by violence and displacement. Access to safety, healthcare, and justice remains limited, making the protection of their fundamental human rights more urgent than ever.

This initiative is not only about raising funds, but also about raising awareness. It is about choosing to speak on what is happening in the DRC, and refusing to let these realities go unseen or unheard.

By supporting this fundraiser, we are helping to amplify the voices of marginalised groups, standing for dignity, protection, and the right of every woman and child to live free from violence.

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
