My story

This May the St Mary's Church community are fundraising for Christian Aid to support communities facing the climate crisis and hunger.

During Christian Aid Week (11-17 May) a team will be out in local streets putting collecting envelopes through doors and encouraging residents to join us in giving.

On Saturday 10 May we'll be holding our annual sponsored Gospelathon read through the four Gospels - aiming to finish in less than ten hours

And our Vicar Revd Michael Moore will be doing a sponsored 70k walk round the parish, tackling different roads on different days.

Can you help us to raise money in support of farmers in places like Guatemala, to help them fight back against extreme weather that’s destroying their crops and food sources?  Christian Aid is supporting them to learn new skills to grow resilient crops and thus protect their families from hunger.

Your support can help fund the vital training these farmers need. Please give what you can to help them build a sustainable future.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
