This May, St Mary's Peterborough are fundraising to support communities facing the climate crisis and hunger.
On Saturday 10 May we'll be holding a sponsored 'Gospelathon' in church, reading through all four gospels out loud and hoping to beat last year's time of ten hours.
During Christian Aid Week 11-17 May we'll be holding a house-to-house collection round some of the roads in our parish, and inviting the residents to donate.
And on Wednesday 21, Thursday 22, Friday 23 & Saturday 24 May our vicar Revd Michael Moore will be walking a total of 70km on his sponsored walk round the parish.
Why are we doing this? To support farmers in places like Guatemala, who are fighting back against extreme weather that’s destroying their crops and food sources. Despite these challenges, they are learning new skills to grow resilient crops and protect their families from hunger.
Your support can help fund the vital training these farmers need. Please give what you can to help them build a sustainable future. Thank you.

Congratulations! This activity has reached its target of £1,500.00
At lunchtime today Michael successfully completed his 70km challenge, walking round our large parish eight times in four days. He kept going by thinking of the women walking two hours a day fetching water for their families. He is tired after four days of walking, but said, think how tired those women must be who are walking and carrying water every day.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored him. This will enable Christian Aid to do more.
