My story

Here's an example of Christian Aid's work. When armed conflict swept through her community in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Chance fled with her newborn baby and eight children. Their long journey to safety has left them with nothing, and now life in a temporary shelter means hunger and disease are a daily threat.

Through Christian Aid, families like Chance’s are receiving emergency cash grants, allowing mothers to buy what their children need most – e.g. food, medicine, bedding.

Christian Aid works in 35 other countries to provide immediate relief and longer-term support towards self-sufficiency. This Christmas, as we celebrate, please give what you can - you may save a child’s life.

How your money helps

This Christmas, support families in the Democratic Republic of Congo who’ve fled violence.

For mothers like Chance, daily life in a displacement camp means finding enough food, medicine and shelter to keep her children alive. But your fundraising can make a life-saving difference. Every pound raised could provide cash grants that:

  • Give families the dignity to buy food, medicine and essentials.
  • Bedding, blankets and shelter to protect children traumatised by conflict.
  • Vital supplies that bring comfort and hope in the darkest of times

Your donations, this Christmas, will bring hope to those who need it most.
