My story

Join others from Ashbourne as we support the work of Christian Aid this May.

In Guatemala, the climate crisis is destroying crops and causing hunger for Indigenous communities. But with training, farmers like Aurelia are fighting back.

Aurelia has faced extreme heatwaves that have killed her crops, but through Christian Aid’s partner, Congcoop, she’s learning to grow resilient crops, make fertiliser and conserve water. She’s sharing this knowledge with others, helping her community build a sustainable future.

This Christian Aid Week, please give to support the fight against hunger and the climate crisis.

Join others from Ashbourne and stand with people like Aline by making a donation to Christian Aid this May.

As well as online fundraising, we will be collecting donations offline. We aim to raise a total of £2000.

£2174.42

Thank you to everyone who supported our Christian Aid Week appeal.

All of the many small donations added up to the grand total of £2,174.42 which will go to Christian Aid's work around the world.

Over 40 volunteers were involved, delivering over 2500 envelopes around the town. A huge thank you to everyone who helped and to everyone who made a donation.

For over 80 years, supporters like you have been part of a movement built on hope—a hope that speaks out against injustice and stands firm against poverty. This Christian Aid Week, you kept that hope alive. Thank you.

Thank you!

We are still finalising the amount, but we have already received offline donations of £1600, which means our total for 2025 is over £2000. This is amazing and exceeds our target. Thank you for your support.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
