My story

This year, the focus of Christian Aid Week is on Burundi, one of the
poorest nations in the world where malnourishment and poverty affect more than 70% of the population.

This is a very special cause for the Cathedral community because we have regular links with the Baptist Union of Churches in Burundi, and with its Pastor and its Sunday School.

We have already provided practical help, such as football kit for their school and community teams, and Christian Aid Week now gives us the chance to benefit the wider community in Burundi.

Please give generously to enable its people to escape poverty and fulfil their hopes and ambitions. Thank you!

How your money helps

Poverty pushed Aline to the brink. She was abused, homeless and hungry. But Aline pushed back harder. With Christian Aid funded small business training, she achieved what had seemed impossible, a vital income for her and her children.

Fundraising this Christian Aid Week will ensure more people in Burundi get the skills and knowledge they need to push back against the inhumanity of poverty.
