My story

I know that some families in this country are finding things hard but Lizzie Lab and I are intending to walk 70k this May to raise money for Christian Aid to help families in other countries facing hunger.

This year Christian Aid’s partner in Kenya, Beacon of Hope, are training aspiring urban farmers to grow vegetables in small, unused city spaces. These vegetables are used to feed families with their own nutritious produce and sell produce on market stalls to generate an income.
Any money raised will go towards this training.

Can I please ask you to support my challenge. Thank you.

Congratulations! This activity has received its first donation!

How your money helps

You can support families facing the daily stress of food insecurity in Nairobi.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening. But with tools, seeds and training from our partner, Beacon of Hope, families can grow nutritious vegetables in small city spaces and grow hope for the future.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • provide seeds and tools so people can grow food in small spaces.
  • fund training so people can plan ahead and protect their livelihoods.
  • support community-led projects that strengthen food security and incomes.
