My story

Ychydig yn ôl, cawsom y fraint o gyfarfod Janet Ngombalu o Cymorth Cristnogol Kenya, a Jane Wathome, sylfaenydd “Beacon of Hope “ yn Nairobi, y prosiect sy’n ffocws i wythnos Cymorth Cristnogol elenni. Gwnaeth clywed yn uniongyrchol am y gwaith arbennig yma sy’n helpu gwragedd fel Fridah i dyfu llysiau i fwydo ei phlant, ein ysgogi i ymateb i sialens unwaith eto. Byddwn hefyd yn cerdded er cof am Dyfrig fy mrawd fu farw yn 2025.

Recently, we were privileged to meet Janet Ngombalu of Christian Aid Kenya, and Jane Wathomo the founder of “Beacon of Hope “, the project which is the focus of this year’s Christian Aid week. Hearing directly about the project helping women like Fridah to grow vegetables in almost impossible locations so that they can feed their families, inspired us to once again respond to the walking challenge. We will also be walking in memory of my brother Dyfrig, who passed away in 2025.

In the crowded and noisy settlements of Nairobi, parents like Fridah wake up knowing they must earn money – otherwise their children won’t eat that evening.
