My story

The Cycle party was a happy, noisy, colourful event where 44 Cyclists turned up to raise funds for Christian Aid.

Thank you to everyone who came and added to the fun

It was organised to perfection by Stephen Dominy and led by Ray Craig dressed as Batman.

Ray led the party at a fair pace chased by a peloton of cyclist which fortunately stopped at each major junction to allow the laggards to catch up.

Prizes were awarded for the best dressed bike and the best dressed cyclist.

It was great fun, and we have had a good number of generous donations both online and in envelopes.  As a surprise after the event, an anonymous donor has given an additional £10 for every cyclist: £444.  The total raised to date, including on this web page is £2031.  Thank you to all our generous donors!!!  And we are of course still open for top-ups!

And thank you to all the people who helped make this such a success.

In Guatemala, farmers like Aurelia are battling extreme weather, but with Christian Aid’s support, they’re learning skills to protect their farms and provide for their families.

Your support can help fund this vital training. Just £20 could buy two pounds of climate-resilient seeds, diversifying a family’s crop and increasing their resilience against the effects of the climate crisis.

The webpage is still open for donations.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
