I’m Head of Church Engagement & Fundraising at Christian Aid - responsible for Christian Aid Week, so I need to do my bit for our big annual fundraiser.
Last year I ran 70K in May by running from home and the Christian Aid office to 20+ churches across south London. This year I am keeping it local - and have challenged myself to run round the parish boundary of Christ Church Gipsy Hill until I hit 70k in May.
All of this fundraising is to support communities around the world that are fighting the climate crisis. I'm wanting to run in solidarity with the millions of people who have to walk long distances for clean water or to sell their produce.
During this year's Christian Aid Week, we're shining a light on the situation in Guatemala, where farmers like Aurelia are battling extreme weather. It's tough but with the support of Christian Aid's partners, they’re learning skills to protect their farms and provide for their families.
Your support this year can help fund this vital training. Just £20 could buy two pounds of climate-resilient seeds, diversifying a family’s crop and increasing their resilience against the effects of the climate crisis.
