My story

I'm 70 in May and am blessed in very many ways - family, friends, faith to name a few.  I want to use my birthday month to do something that will bring a little blessing to someone else.

I’m taking on 70Km in May to help communities fight the climate crisis. This means I’ll be covering 70 kilometres in whatever way I choose, in solidarity with millions of people who have to walk long distances for clean water or to sell their produce.

In Guatemala, farmers like Aurelia are battling extreme weather, but with Christian Aid’s support, they’re learning skills to protect their farms and provide for their families.

Your support can help fund this vital training. Just £20 could buy two pounds of climate-resilient seeds, diversifying a family’s crop and increasing their resilience against the effects of the climate crisis.

Three Quarters Done!

Hi There!

3 weeks in and I've past the 70km target! Still time to do more! Also, due to you lovely generous people we have surpassed my original target of £250. Heading, I hope to £350 before the 31st. Thank you all so much for spurring me on!

Half Way There!

Thank you so much to all those who have contributed to this appeal! It's been a huge encouragement to getting out walking most days. I'm on course to get the 70km done in the next 10 days or so, but amazing the target fund has already reached my target. Thank you again for being generous to those so much less fortunate than we in the UK.

How your money helps

This Christian Aid Week, you can support communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis.

In places like Guatemala, extreme weather is destroying crops, deepening hunger and threatening livelihoods. But with the right tools and training, farmers can build sustainable futures.

Every pound you raise could help:

  • Provide climate-resilient seeds to help families grow food.
  • Fund water conservation techniques to protect crops.
  • Support vital training so farmers can build a sustainable future.
