Martin and Kevin are old university friends, both taking on the challenge of 70K in May. In our younger days we walked in the Austrian Alps. Nowadays, as we're both in our 60s, the South Downs Way is more our thing!
But we wanted to use our walk to raise money for Christian Aid. Christian Aid is a charity close to our hearts and works with the very poorest people in God's world, people affected by poverty, war and climate change.
People like those in Burundi a small central African country where Christian Aid are working to empower families to build reliable and diverse incomes. Take Aline, for example. She found a lifeline in Christian Aid after she felt the full force of extreme poverty, when an early marriage ended in abuse and violence. Christian Aid helped her with small business training and she set up as a grocery wholesaler. Today, Aline can afford food, clothes, and essential healthcare for her family.
There’s so many more people Christian Aid could reach – and that’s why we're fundraising and taking part in 70K in May.
Together we can make a lasting difference. Thank you for your support!
